UPVC Windows
GLAS has an extensive knowledge of UPVC energy efficient window and door systems. Members of our team have been involved with the development of UPVC windows and doors since its insertion in to the UK market in the 1970s. So, you can rest assured that you are in good hands.
UPVC windows and doors are possibly the best performing energy efficient windows and doors available today. And they are certainly some of the most secure.
The multi-chamber, double/triple glazed designs aid the insulation of your home by vastly reducing the temperature transfer usually lost through single glazing. The result; a more comfortable living environment.
If security is a priority, the high security multi-point locks that are included on all UPVC windows and doors will provide assurance.
Extra benefits to UPVC double or triple glazed windows and doors;
Acoustic performance: The systems can reduce approximately 70% of external noise.
Energy Bill Reduction: by reducing the need to run air conditioning and fans, energy bills will decrease.
Casement & Awning Windows
Casement and Awning style windows utilise friction stay hinges to provide a side or top hung opening sash. Each sash includes a high security multi-point locking system which is operated by a single handle. The sashes can be opened slightly and locked in place – allowing a gentle breeze to flow in to your home.
Fly screens can be installed where necessary.
Tilt & Turn Windows
Tilt and Turn style windows combine opening methods. By turning the handle to 90 degrees, the window tilts in at the top to allow some ventilation to flow into your home. Pushing the sash closed and turning the handle to 180% allows the sash to fully ‘hinge’ inwards. This provides greater ventilation. It also allows easy access to the external face for cleaning.
The windows again utilise high security multi-point locking systems.
Fly screens can be installed where necessary.
Sliding Windows
Sliding windows are generally the standard style of window in Australian homes.
The UPVC option is no different in its function. However, UPVC sliding windows provide superior thermal and acoustic insulation.
The windows again utilise a multi-point locking system and fly screens can be added where required.
Colour options include: white, faux wood grain, silver, black, golden oak, oyster and anthracite grey. These can also be used in combination for inside or outside colour schemes.
